Blanca Li offers a modern hip-hop version of The Nutcracker, a marvellous tale whose music is unforgettable.

For Blanca Li, the Russian soul has always resonated with Spanish flamboyance. So it’s only natural that she renews the timeless, popular story of The Nutcracker with her own weapons: hip hop, multiculturalism and a crack team. She tames Tchaikovsky’s musical masterpiece in an astonishing, urban re-orchestration. She makes it vibrate in the steps of eight dancers whose talent is nourished by their Hispanic cultural roots, as well as by an Iberian hip hop movement that remains very authentic and close to its New York, Caribbean and Californian sources.

Blanca Li is a choreographer who sets no limits on genre or style, and a member of the Académie des Beaux Arts. She served as Director of the Teatros del Canal in Madrid from 2019 until December 2023. Since June 2024, she has been the President of the Parc and Grande Halle de La Villette.
